The Morphology of the Absence
In mediterranean archaeology gentleman amateurs set out to uncover the classical art of the past and incidentally uncover history. In the New World archeology developed as a scientific subdiscipline of anthropology, who was primarily interested in history, unwittingly uncovered beauty and art. This means that our history of indigenous art, in addition to having been documented from a Eurocentric perspective, was understood from a historical and scientific perspective, initially annulling all sensibility and mysticism as central aspects of this art.
